There are some simple pointers that can help you to chose the skin care product that is right for you.
Cost versus quality
Some of the more expensive skin care treatments available can cost up to 150 for a small jar. It can seem difficult for beauty experts to justify these prices and confirm that overpriced products are any more beneficial than the standard skin care brands.
Posh packaging and glossy adverts can be all that we end up paying for with these luxury products. This doesn’t mean thought that it’s ok to opt for the cheapest skin care products either, as these are often poor quality and have little benefit to our skin, and in some cases can even be irritants. 2- 10 is a good price range to aim for.
Trust the well known brands
If there are brands available that have been around for a long time, then there is always a reason for this. People always go back to buy brands that they trust, that have worked well and that they feel offer good value for money. If it’s working for everyone else, it’s likely that it will work for you too. Established skincare brands will also have had many years of research behind their products.
Test the Product
Don’t get distracted by colourful packaging, special offers, or fancy fragrances when you are looking for a skincare product. Test the product out on your own skin to see if it feels like it will work with your skin type. If you have greasy skin then oily products won’t be right for you, and if you have dry skin, go for a heavier or thicker cream or look for a specially developed cream for your skin type.
Mum knows best
Ask you mum, friends and family to tell you about their skincare products and why they buy the products that they do. Ask them too if they have tried any products that they didn’t like. This is the best way to get an honest evaluation of any product and see the results for yourself, as well as advice on where you can buy your ideal skincare products from.
